ACCOUNTANT
Columbus, OH

About the Company:
Our client, a respected company in the construction and design-build space, is seeking a hands-on Accountant/Controller to manage day-to-day financial operations and support long-term strategic growth. This role is crucial to maintaining accurate, timely, and insightful financial data that informs key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and client billing

• Oversee payroll processing, including PTO, commissions, benefits, and reporting

• Prepare monthly financial reports, project-level reporting, and accrual-based statements

• Assist with tax compliance (sales/use tax, jurisdictional filings, etc.)

• Maintain banking and cash flow activities, including reconciliations and deposits

• Lead forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning

• Monitor insurance documentation and reporting (health, liability, subcontractor)

Qualifications:

• Ideally 2-7 years of accounting experience (public or private)

• 1+ years of experience in construction or a related industry preferred

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage both transactional work and higher-level financial strategy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in accounting software and Excel
