Geisinger Medical Laboratories is seeking a full-time Pathologist Assistant to join us in our laboratory in Danville, PA. This position is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week.
We are a team of 42 pathologists, 5 full- time PA’s, and 7 full-time Surgical Pathology Technicians. This position is in our centralized Surgical Pathology Lab that supports 9 hospitals with a total annual case load of 95,000 surgical cases and 30 autopsies.
As an academic teaching facility associated with a residency program, dermatopathology fellowship, and medical school, there are residents, fellows, and students that interact with professional staff which offers the chance for our Pathologist Assistants to teach.
We have a newly constructed, state-of-the-art, open-concept laboratory with Mopec down draft adjustable grossing stations; each plumbed with formalin faucets and drains, Voicebrook dictation system, Cerner CoPath Plus, EPIC, cassette engravers at each grossing station, robotic specimen storage and retrieval system, and customized grossing station software developed under the direction of our Pathologist Assistants.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A candidate/graduate of an American Association of Pathologist Assistants (AAPA)/NAACLS educational program. ASCP certification eligibility required.
PA (ASCP) must be obtained within one year of hire.
Prior experience preferred but exam eligible new graduates are encouraged to apply!
