JOB SUMMARY:
Performs and supports company’s accounting activities, coordinates and supervises accounting team. Ensures the integrity and accuracy of accounting information by reviewing, recording, and analyzing transactions according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains general ledger records, creates journal entries and verifies business transactions to ensure they are recorded according to GAAP; reconciles general ledger accounts and accounting modules.
Supervises accounting operations, including accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable and General Ledger.
Coordinates activities of staff engaged in accounting functions, supervising, evaluating, training, mentoring and disciplining employees.
Provides customer service by responding internal and external inquiries.
Calculates, generates, and processes sales commissions.
Coordinates Treasury by entering payments and FX transactions, in banking portal and monitoring positive pay for fraud prevention.
Maintains Fixed Assets modules, prepaid expense schedules, and inter-company transactions.
Analyzes and recommends modifications to internal control procedures, accounting systems, SGP and participation in continuous improvement process.
Generates and assists in development of financial statements, variance reports and budgets.
Coordinates and participates in the month-end, year-end close processes and annual audits. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, experience, certification):
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field preferred.
Five (5) years of technical accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional accounting experience may substitute for the required education.
Bi-lingual, English and Spanish.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Knowledge of advanced financial accounting and relevant government regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; time management skills; attention to detail and accuracy in performing financial/accounting tasks.
Interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize projects and responsibilities and multitask. Understanding of customer service principles and practices.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is a largely sedentary role, however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. Some travel required.
