Bioscience Safety Manager

Position Impact Statement: As a Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our team and operations. Your expertise will directly contribute to the sustainable and safe production of biofuels, helping us achieve our environmental goals while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and PSM standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide safety training and education to employees, ensuring a thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all aspects of operations and projects.
• Manage and oversee the safety performance of contractors and vendors.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation, preparing reports for management and regulatory agencies.
• Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes, ensuring continuous improvement of safety programs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree Required. Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, or Industrial Safety Management preferred.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation or plans to become a CSP desired.
• 3+ years of experience in chemical process and/or biofuels industries, including PSM experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and PSM standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with all team members.
• Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Leadership skills and experience in motivating and developing a team through constant feedback.
