About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Research Compliance Officer (CRCO) to establish and lead the compliance framework for its research activities. The CRCO will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of compliance areas, including human subjects protections, animal welfare, conflicts of interest, biosafety, research privacy and security, investigational drugs and devices, and export controls. This role demands a strategic and collaborative leader who can ensure the meticulous oversight of all research operations and activities, and who is dedicated to creating a culture of compliance that is supportive and collaborative. The successful candidate will work to optimize research operations, improve compliance, and support infrastructure enhancements, and must be proactive in staying abreast of and anticipating changes in the regulatory landscape to keep the company at the forefront of compliance. The ideal candidate for the CRCO position at the company will be a visible leader, acting as an advisor across the research portfolio and guiding best practices to enhance the institution's research enterprise. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a strong regulatory system that will safeguard and promote the company's significant research efforts. The CRCO will also be involved in the implementation of best practices to ensure the longevity and compliance of the research apparatus. A collaborative and non-punitive approach to compliance is essential, as is the ability to partner with various stakeholders across the institute. The role requires a leader who is prepared to be at the forefront of compliance, keeping the company informed and well-prepared for any shifts in the regulatory environment.
