Position Summary

As a Child Care Teacher , you will play a vital role in nurturing the health, wellbeing, and education of children in our care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating with parents about their child's progress and milestones
  • Implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in compliance with state regulations
  • Supervising and guiding Teacher Assistants and Classroom Aides

We offer both Year-Round and Seasonal opportunities, with a competitive wage of $22.00/hr .

Essential Duties

  • Engage and encourage children in daily activities, ensuring their safety
  • Create and implement curriculum based on Vermont Early Childhood Learning Standards
  • Maintain communication with parents and caregivers
  • Develop and maintain portfolios for each child
  • Conduct behavioral and cognitive assessments twice a year
  • Organize parent-teacher conferences
  • Complete 24 hours of approved professional development annually
  • Uphold state licensing requirements and regulations
  • Report any suspected abuse or neglect as a mandated reporter
  • Follow protocols for reporting unsafe conditions
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 21 college credits in Early Education or a qualifying Associate’s Degree
  • Must meet or exceed Vermont standards for Teacher Associate position

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year working in a licensed childcare center or as an Early Elementary Educator
  • Must be at least 20 years of age

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • First Aid & CPR Certified
  • Proficient in Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Availability for winter weekends and holidays is required
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly
