ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

Our clients’ residents are the backbone of their business and their communities. They care about the comfort and quality of their tenants’ homes and work to transform an abandoned property into a beautiful home. They find the legal means to take ownership, renovate, and rent abandoned homes. Most property investors don't like to do what they do - they prefer to roll up our sleeves.

WHO YOU ARE:

An accounting professional with at least 3 years of experience, who's motivated, eager to learn and grow with the Property Management firm. The incumbent must be willing to support the Property Management company from a finance and employee relations standpoint. Must be experienced with conducting audits, compiling financial statements, working with an Assistant Controller, and assisting the President and CFO as needed, and managing the accounting for all the properties within the portfolio. You are a servant leader with strong business acumen who is not afraid to jump in and help where needed.

KEY OBJECTIVES:

  • Provide guidance to the different members of the team on accounting and HR matters
  • Manage A/P and A/R, oversee the day-to-day accounting functions
  • Coordinate the monthly preparation and distribution of financial statements and budget variance reports, ensuring the accurate completion of required accounting reporting
  • Review processes to identify opportunities for process improvement that create efficiencies.
  • Assist with policy enforcement as it relates to employee matters, insurance matters or other employee base circumstances that may arise throughout the 3 offices.
  • Develop and implement efficient accounting practices
  • Communicate financial information to various levels of the organization
  • Manage Human Capital related matters as directed.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • CPA a plus but not required.
  • 3 years of accounting experience in property management
  • 1 year of leadership experience
  • Experience using Quick Books or related accounting software.
  • Expert in MS Excel
  • Able to work onsite in New York, New York 10018 (potential for hybrid schedule following training)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Onsite for initial few months, with potential to work hybrid (two days remote)
  • Benefits include medical, Life, FSA, PTO, etc.
  • Full-time M-F, weekends if needed.
  • Exempt
  • Compensation: $90-$130k annually
