About the Role

The Company is seeking a Corporate Counsel with a focus on Real Estate to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the company's real estate activities and operations, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, zoning and land use, real estate finance, tax incentives, and development incentives. This role involves maintaining compliance with contract policies and procedures, providing direct support to the acquisition and development team, and handling the legal aspects of various transactions. The Corporate Counsel will also be involved in non-real estate legal and general business matters as needed, such as commercial law, and will be expected to assist with a variety of business-related functions, providing legal and business judgment on matters like loans, equity raises, joint ventures, and acquisitions. Applicants must have a J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school, be admitted to the Bar of a U.S. state or the District of Columbia, and have at least three years of legal experience, preferably in a general corporate transactional practice with a focus on real estate. Experience with project finance and/or asset-based lending is a plus. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, self-starter with strong attention to detail, able to work both independently and as part of a team, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and to effectively manage legal and business issues.
