About the Role

The Company is seeking a Corporate Counsel with a focus on regulatory matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the company's marketing initiatives within the framework of consumer and commercial finance laws and regulations. This role requires a self-starter with the ability to build strong relationships, and who is comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key responsibilities include partnering with product, marketing, and compliance teams, providing legal counsel on a range of financial products and services, and handling a variety of complex legal requests. The Corporate Counsel will also be expected to identify and mitigate legal risks, ensure legal compliance, and work with cross-functional teams to implement regulatory changes. Applicants must have a J.D. from an accredited law school, be admitted to the bar in at least one state, and have a minimum of 3 years' regulatory experience, particularly in the areas of consumer financial services laws. A strong understanding of a wide range of financial regulations is essential, including but not limited to the Dodd-Frank Act, FTC Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and various state statutes. The role demands a candidate with excellent critical thinking, negotiation, and project management skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive business partner with a solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving and a good sense of moral judgment.
