JSET specializes in low voltage controls and communications, more specifically installing and commissioning of mechanical and electrical building management monitoring systems on commercial or industrial projects in the Columbus area. JSET Automated Technologies is seeking an experienced Fiber Technician . As part of this role...

• Pull, route, and secure low-voltage cables including CAT 5/6, coaxial, and fiber optics in new construction environment. Remove Coaxial

• Install support structures, such as cable trays and conduit, for efficient cable routing.
• Install, label and test premise cabling, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware. Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
• Install LC, MTRJ, SC and RJ45 connector termination and test fiber-optic and copper cabling systems. Remove MTRJ
• Labeling of cables and associated hardware according to standards and cable run sheets.
• Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete projects.
• Fusion Splice Single Strand and Ribbon Fiber.
• Test Fusion spliced fiber and ensure within customer specifications.
• Operate various types of lifts to install fiber and control wiring. Remove Control wiring and add Low voltage wiring
• Work cohesively with the team to complete the assigned objectives

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable working at heights
• Previous experience in structured cabling and telecommunications installation is a plus but not required. We welcome candidates at all skill levels.
• Must have basic copper termination skills
• Knowledge of universal color codes for cable identification and labeling.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as EIA, TIA, BICSI, or NEC is not required, but preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with Fujikura 90S+ fusion splicer and Fujikura 90R fusion splicer
• Familiar with Fluke Versiv Testing equipment
• Can Fusion Splice Single Strand and Ribbon Fiber - i.e. OS2, OM3, OM4, OM5
• Can splice on Fiber connectors and Fiber pigtails
