Job Description

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Rowan University is recruiting outstanding candidates for our Doctoral (PhD) and Master’s (MS) programs to begin Fall 2025. Ongoing faculty-led biomedical research at Rowan University includes basic and translational research as well as commercialization opportunities in fields including biomaterials, tissue engineering, biomechanics, biomedical robotics, drug delivery, synthetic biology and immunoengineering. Collaborations with physicians at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine offer opportunities to participate in clinical research projects as well.

All of our admitted PhD students are provided with a Research Fellowship that includes a full tuition waiver and competitive biweekly stipend.

Rowan University is a comprehensive, state-designated research institution with approximately 20,000 students. Its main campus is located in Glassboro, N.J., 20-miles southeast of Philadelphia, and it has a branch campus and medical school in Camden, NJ and a second medical school in nearby Stratford, NJ. Rowan is the second university in the country to offer both M.D. and D.O. medical-degree granting programs. The institution is also home to the South Jersey Technology Park, which fosters the translation of applied research into commercial products and processes.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering is in a period of substantial growth along with the founding of the new School of Translational Biomedical Engineering & Sciences.

Major metropolitan areas within the Northeast Corridor are within easy reach of Glassboro. Philadelphia is a thirty minute drive, New York City and Washington, D.C. are less than three hours away, and Jersey beaches are only an hour drive.
