The Logistics Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods within our supply chain. This position is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation planning, carrier selection, and cost optimization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.

Responsibilities:

Inbound Logistics:

• Coordinate inbound shipments of raw materials and other goods, including LTL and FTL deliveries.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to optimize delivery schedules and minimize transportation costs.

Outbound Logistics:

• Coordinate all outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to customers.
• Manage carrier selection, scheduling, and documentation for all shipments.

Freight Cost Optimization:

• Negotiate and secure competitive freight rates with carriers.
• Develop and maintain routing guides to optimize delivery routes and reduce transportation costs.

Logistics Operations:

• Coordinate shipments to and from converters and warehouses.
• Schedule and manage export shipments, including the necessary documentation.

Data Management:

• Collect and analyze logistics data to identify trends, identify areas for improvement, and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including invoices, carrier information, and delivery dates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation and logistics within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Proven experience in freight cost negotiation and carrier management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and identify areas for improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus.
