PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Materials & Logistics Coordinator will play a vital role in managing the flow of materials, goods, and information to ensure efficient and timely delivery and distribution.

MATERIALS MANAGEMENT •
Inventory Control o Monitor stock levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
o Conduct regular counts and reconcile discrepancies in inventory records.
o Collaborate with procurement to replenish inventory as needed.

Material Handling o Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.
o Ensure proper staging of materials for production or shipment.
o Maintain accurate records of material movements in ERP system.
•
Supply Chain Coordination o Work with suppliers to track and expedite incoming shipments.
o Address and resolve issues related to delayed or defective materials.
o Evaluate supplier performance and report feedback to procurement teams.
LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT •
Shipping and Receiving o Oversee the scheduling, loading, and unloading of shipments.
o Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms.
o Ensure proper labeling and packaging of outbound goods to meet customer or regulatory requirements.
o Coordinate outside surface treatments (heat treat, black oxide, etc.)

Transportation Coordination o Manage relationships with carriers and freight companies.
o Negotiate rates and optimize transportation costs.
o Track shipments and provide status updates to stakeholders.
o Coordinate internal trucking schedule.

Delivery and Distribution o Coordinate the delivery of materials to production areas or external customers.
o Ensure delivery schedules are met and communicate delays promptly.
o Collaborate with production and sales teams to prioritize shipments.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT •
Workflow Optimization o Identify bottlenecks in material flow and implement solutions.
o Develop and refine processes to improve material handling efficiency.
o Use data analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities in logistics.
o Be highly organized and able to maintain order across multiple locations.

Technology and System Management o Utilize ERP system for tracking inventory and shipments.
o Support the integration of new logistics tools or software.
COMPLIANCE & SAFETY •
Regulatory Adherence o Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and safety standards.
o Maintain documentation for audits and inspections.
•
Safety Oversight o Enforce proper handling and storage of materials to prevent accidents.
o Train staff in safe material handling practices and equipment use.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED •Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
•5+ years supervising shipping and receiving operations
•5+ years working in a manufacturing environment
•Forklift certification
•ERP familiarity, Epicor a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS •Typical non-production manufacturing environment
•Light exposure to noise, dust, debris, and chemicals
•May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
•May be required to climb stairs and ladders
