Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our innovative remote learning program. Position Overview
As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with various learning needs. This role requires a strong background in online teaching, along with a solid understanding of how to leverage technology for effective learning. You'll play a critical role in ensuring students receive the tailored instruction they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
Design and Deliver Instruction: Develop and provide specialized lessons via virtual platforms to address the unique needs of each student.
Develop IEPs: Create, implement, and regularly review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet both federal and state regulations.
Collaborate: Work closely with general education teachers to ensure students are receiving the appropriate accommodations and modifications for success.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student progress and ensure proper documentation for compliance.
Engage with Stakeholders: Hold virtual meetings with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.
Support Parents/Guardians: Offer guidance on effective learning strategies for students at home.
Professional Development: Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance your skills and contribute to a supportive team environment.

Qualifications
Education: A Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Licensing: A valid North Carolina teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
Experience: At least 2 years of teaching experience in a school setting.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with virtual learning platforms and educational technology tools.
Communication Skills: Strong ability to connect with students, families, and colleagues through clear, positive communication.
IEP Experience: Proven experience in developing and implementing IEPs that reflect students' individual needs.
Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently while maintaining effective collaboration with team members.
