Recruiting & HR Coordinator

We are on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Recruiting & HR Coordinator to support our attorney and professional staff recruiting efforts, as well as other human resources activities. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth execution of recruiting, onboarding, and professional development initiatives. You will report directly to the Manager of Firm Talent and Recruiting.
**Location:** Washington, DC or New York, NY
**Job Type:** Temporary to Permanent | Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm EST, Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
**Compensation:** $33.65 per hour ($70,000 base salary)
Responsibilities
- **Candidate Management:** Monitor the Careers inbox daily, create attorney candidate profiles, review applications for completeness, and ensure they meet minimum requirements.
- **Tracking and Coordination:** Track candidate application statuses, interview evaluations, and offers extended. Schedule in-person and virtual interviews for attorney and staff candidates.
- **Communication:** Draft and send candidate communications, including interview confirmations and rejection letters.
- **Event Support:** Coordinate with local admin teams regarding interviews and internal/external recruiting events. Provide onsite support for in-person interviews and recruiting events, including Clerk Recruiting Receptions.
- **Calendar and Document Management:** Manage the recruiting cycle calendar and maintain search firm fee agreements.
- **Onboarding:** Coordinate new hire orientation schedules and assist with preliminary onboarding activities.
- **Compliance:** Track attorney bar and court admissions, CLE certificates, and compliance periods. Assist with CLE accreditation applications and attendance tracking for internal CLE events.
- **System Administration:** Create, test, and manage viDesktop credentials for new hires and employees.
- **Professional Development:** Support the annual performance management process and attorney professional development initiatives.
- **Project Support:** Assist with ad hoc recruiting and HR projects and serve as a backup to local admin teams.
Qualifications
- **Education:** BA/BS degree required.
- **Experience:** 1+ years of recruiting and/or HR experience at a law firm. Experience interacting directly with attorneys and partners.
- **Skills:** Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work independently. Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- **Technical Proficiency:** Proficiency in viDesktop and Microsoft Office; willingness to learn additional platforms.
- **Initiative:** Ability to anticipate needs and take initiative with minimal supervision.
- **Collaboration:** Collaborative mindset and ability to work across offices.
