The RN Telephone Triage performs nursing functions according to the nursing
process and as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

- *Primary Responsibilities:**
- Participates and maintains a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within
- Must be available to provide nursing care according to the sequential steps of the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation
- Primarily responsible for handling incoming clinically related calls to the assigned department to ensure that patient needs are met. This may require protocol-driven responses
- Ensures smooth and efficient telephone communication by using proper telephone etiquette. Handles telephone calls appropriately, in a timely manner and offer assistance and reassurance to the caller. Advice given is done so under the direction and guidelines of the attending provider or per department protocol
- Demonstrates effective time management and organizational skills. Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and follow-through. Accurately and legibly documents concise, pertinent information (i.e. telephone message, EHR, etc.). Ensures patient care paperwork is processed and forwarded in a timely manner Balances the speed and quantity of work with quality; multi-task comfortably
- Works cooperatively with team members in order to accomplish work effectively and efficiently; helps create and maintain good working relationships; provides assistance and back-up with direct patient care as needed. Demonstrates effective conflict management skills
- Improves the quality of care through continuing education and self-evaluation of the effectiveness of care. This includes attendanceparticipation in most in-servicesdepartment meetings and remaining current on clinicdepartment policies and procedures
- Takes initiative to enhance practice management. Works with providers and clinical staff to improve the functioning and efficiency of the individual practice andor hallway. Fosters innovation and change by demonstrating open-mindedness, being supportive of change and assisting with implementation and adapting in the changing needs of the departmentclinic
- Participates in the orientation and training of new employees

- *Required Qualifications:**
- Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing
- Current unencumbered State of Oregon license as a Registered Nurse

- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- 1+ years of experience in an acute care hospital andor in an individual provider’s office or clinic setting
- Experience in appropriate specialty andor telephone triage
- Evidence of working knowledge of the nursing process
- Knowledge of basic clinical skills to provide patient care
- Ability to work well with providers, clinical staff and patients
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work
The hourly range for this role is $28.61 to $56.06 per hour based on full-time
employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local
labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth
