FirstLight is seeking an experienced Sales Trainer to join our team!

The Sales Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs that align with product knowledge and sales strategies. The Sales Trainer will collaborate closely with the product team to ensure that the sales force is well-equipped with the latest product updates, features, and competitive positioning to drive successful sales outcomes. This position will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by equipping sales representatives with the tools and techniques necessary to meet and exceed sales targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Deliver Product-Focused Training Programs: Design and facilitate training modules including product knowledge, sales techniques, customer engagement, objection handling, closing strategies and competitive differentiation.
  • Sales and Product Integration: Partner with the product team to ensure that all training reflects the latest product updates, features, and strategic positioning in the market.
  • Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding of new sales employees, providing a strong foundation in telecommunications products, services, and industry trends.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales leaders, product managers and sales engineering to understand new products and ensure sales teams are fully prepared to sell and support these offerings.
  • Customize Training Materials: Adapt training content to reflect changes in products, services, and market conditions, ensuring alignment with product goals.
  • Sales Coaching: Provide ongoing sales coaching, mentoring, to enhance product positioning, objection handling, and sales closing skills to ensure continuous improvement in sales outcomes.
  • Conduct Product Assessments: Evaluate the effectiveness of training by testing the sales team’s product knowledge and providing feedback for improvement.
  • Stay Updated on Product Innovations: Stay informed of new product releases, enhancements, and emerging trends within the telecommunications industry.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze sales performance data to identify product-related challenges and develop targeted training initiatives to address them.

Qualifications:

  • Education: B.S. or B.A. preferred with a technical background.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales training, product management, or sales, with a strong emphasis on telecommunications products.
  • Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of telecommunications products and services, and experience in communicating technical features to non-technical audiences.
  • Training Expertise: Proven ability to design and deliver effective product training programs that align with business objectives.
  • Collaboration Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally between sales and product teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Salesforce, sales enablement tools, and telecommunications technologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex product information.
  • Analytical Skills: Capable of analyzing product-related sales data to identify areas of improvement in both product knowledge and sales techniques.

The range for this role is between $75,000-$125,000 depending on experience.
