Senior Aerospace Engineer

Eastern Suburb of Cleveland, OH (relocation assistance available)

 

Compensation :

 

The compensation will have a generous base salary commensurate with experience + bonus potential + excellent benefits. 

 

Opportunity Summary :

 

We're excited to be partnering with a leading supplier of FAA approved alternative OEM parts for the Commercial Aviation industry to recruit for a Senior Aerospace Engineer located in an Eastern Suburb of Cleveland, OH (relocation assistance available). Our client provides the highest quality parts, stocks 100% of their inventory for next day delivery, and offers eCommerce solutions for online customers making them the go-to supplier for alternate commercial aircraft parts. This position will preform reverse engineering on OEM parts to create detail component and assembly drawings using Solidworks 2D and 3D CAD software. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills to interface with customers, and leadership skills to lead a team of 3 design engineers in the 4-6 month horizon. Job Duties :

  • Create preliminary inspection, detail component and assembly drawings (2D and 3D).
  • Apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) standards to component drawings to facilitate high quality low cost
    manufacturing.
  • Inspection of OEM parts using CMM, Comparator, Vision system (Kestrel, Keyence IM), OD/ID Gages,
    Height gage, etc.
  • Perform reverse engineering analysis of inspection data and material lab analysis to specify appropriate
    tolerances and materials for PMA components.
  • Identify critical part characteristics and part function based on the understanding of schematics
    exploded views and other technical information.
  • Apply appropriate aerospace design standards and specifications to component drawings.
  • Recommend technical changes and create Engineering Change Orders.
  • Create test procedures, schematics of components to support the development of the PMA component.
  • Participate in candidate part selection.
  • Manufacturing liaison with supplier base.
  • Coordinate drawing activity and provide guidance to other designers.
  • Recommend methods and processes to continuously improve effectiveness and productivity.

 

Requirements :

  • Bachelors Degree- Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Solidworks 2D & 3D environments.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the aerospace industry is preferred, aftermarket and PMA experience preferred.
  • Significant knowledge of aerospace standards and specifications.
  • Significant knowledge of aerospace materials and processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Reverse Engineering preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team oriented environment.
  • High energy level, solid work ethic.
  • Positive attitude towards continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically and creatively.
