Job Description
Under the supervision of the Zoo Director, the Resource Development Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and programmatic support for Hutchinson Zoo's fundraising and volunteer development activities. Duties include but are not limited to membership coordination; volunteer on-boarding; special event planning; and assisting with capital campaign fundraising, donor and partnership cultivation and grant writing. This position also serves as a close liaison with the Hutchinson Friends of the Zoo (FOTZ) Board.
The Resource Development Coordinator works closely with the Zoo Director, Zoo Leadership and Friends of the Zoo Board Members to strategize and establish a holistic approach that includes donor identification and acquisition, retention, recognition, and development. Resource development is comprised of a variety of types of support, including, but not limited to, financial support through donations, sponsorships, grants, fundraising events and capital campaigns, in-kind donations, sponsorships, human capital - staff training, development and volunteer onboarding and oversight. This position collaborates with the Guest Service Coordinator to support gift shop sales and staffing.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR SUCCESS:
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's degree from a college or university, with a preference toward majors in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Two more years of successfully supporting fundraising activities and teams.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday, must be able to work some evenings and weekends as needed for events.
