In this pivotal role, you’ll represent our company in Washington, DC, building relationships with federal officials, monitoring policy developments, and championing GE Appliances' objectives in the halls of government. Position Director of Federal Government Affairs Location USA, Washington, DC How You'll Create Possibilities Lead our presence in Washington, DC: Serve as the head of our Washington office, representing GE Appliances to federal government officials and agencies. Advocate for our business: Build and maintain strong relationships with White House officials, Members of Congress, and federal agencies to promote GE Appliances’ interests. Monitor and influence policy: Track federal policy developments, anticipate their impact, and develop strategies to align with our business objectives. Advise our leaders: Provide insights and guidance to senior leaders on federal policies, political trends, and public affairs strategies. Foster collaboration: Coordinate meetings between government officials and GE Appliances executives to ensure alignment on critical issues. What You'll Bring to Our Team Minimum Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Government, Public Policy, or related field. Experience: At least 10 years of experience in government relations, lobbying, public affairs, or a related field, with a focus on federal government relations. Strong understanding of federal legislative and regulatory processes. Proven ability to anticipate policy trends and develop strategic advocacy initiatives. Corporate or association government relations experience is a plus. Skills & Attributes: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Deep knowledge of federal policy-making and political acumen. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders. Forward-thinking and strategic mindset to shape policy outcomes aligned with business objectives. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree.
