About the Role
We're seeking a passionate and technically savvy Inside Technical Sales Representative to join our client’s growing sales team. You'll play a pivotal role in converting leads into sales by leveraging your technical expertise and strong communication skills. Technical training will be provided for the new team member. Occasional travel may be required for training (USA), tradeshows, and customer visits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Qualification & Opportunity Development

    • Qualify inbound leads by understanding their specific needs and boat configurations through phone calls and email communication.

    • Analyze boat General Arrangement (GA) drawings to assess compatibility with the company’s electric boat motor systems.

    • Collaborate with engineers and the installation team to answer technical questions and provide expert advice to potential customers.

    • Identify and develop sales opportunities by creating customized solutions that meet client requirements and optimize boat performance.

  • Proposal & Quote Creation

    • Develop clear and compelling proposals outlining electric boat motor solutions, including detailed pricing and system specifications.

    • Work closely with the engineering team to ensure proposal accuracy and address any technical inquiries from potential customers.

    • Utilize a strong understanding of product features and benefits to present offerings as the ideal solution for their boating needs.

    • Support the Direct Sales team in quote development and follow up with clients.

  • Customer Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing customers, fostering trust and confidence in the company’s products and services.

    • Provide ongoing technical support and answer customer inquiries throughout the sales cycle, pre- and post-sale.

    • Negotiate pricing and terms with customers to achieve mutually beneficial agreements and secure sales.

  • Data Tracking & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales pipeline updates, and proposal activity within Hubspot.

    • Generate reports on sales performance, lead conversion rates, and quote activity to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

  • Other Duties

    • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in inside sales or a related field, preferably within the marine industry.
  • Strong understanding of boat systems, including electrical configurations and propulsion technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret boat GA drawings and technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience developing and presenting proposals and quotes.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and a passion for building positive relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Hubspot is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
